Interview with the Vice-Principal,Mali Mittelman

1. Do you remember any special teacher from your days in middle school? Why?

Yes, my home room teacher Hadassa in 6th grade because she cared so much about us. She often stayed after hours and even invited us to her home to help us. I got tips from her about how to be a good teacher.

2. Were the studies in middle school different from the way they are  right now? What do you remember about middle school?

Yes, in elementary school   in Herzlia we had a long day. At 2 o'clock we had after school activities like art, swimming etc.  In high school we studied according to different tracks like: science and humanities.

3. What made you decide to choose a career in education?

In the military I was in Intelligence and my specialty was Arabic. My teacher Meir Eynat convinced me to teach Arabic. And then because I loved teaching Arabic so much, I decided to make it my career.

4.  What do you like best about being a vice-principal?

I like speaking to the students and helping them when I can. I also enjoy working with the school staff.

5.  What advice would you give to pupils in middle school?

Take all you can get from the teachers in middle school because in other schools you don’t get as much attention and help.
